Guides & straight answers
Practical advice from our technicians — before you buy, upgrade or repair.
Which laptop is suitable for office, study or gaming?
Match the laptop to your heaviest daily task: an Intel Core i3/i5 or Ryzen 3/5 with 8GB RAM and an SSD for office and study; Core i5/Ryzen 5 with 16GB for heavy multitasking; and a dedicated NVIDIA RTX graphics card with 16GB RAM for gaming or video editing.
Office & accounting
- Core i3/i5 or Ryzen 3/5, 8GB RAM (16GB if you keep many tabs and Excel files open)
- Always an SSD — 512GB is comfortable
- A full-size keyboard with number pad helps for Tally and Excel
Students
- Light weight and good battery life matter more than raw power
- 8GB RAM minimum, SSD storage, Full HD screen
- Engineering/design students: check software requirements (AutoCAD, MATLAB) first
Gaming & creative work
- Dedicated graphics (RTX 3050 or better), 16GB RAM, 512GB–1TB SSD
- A 120Hz+ display for gaming; colour-accurate IPS for editing
- Good cooling — gaming laptops run hot under load

Should I upgrade RAM or SSD first?
If your laptop still has a hard disk (HDD), upgrade to an SSD first — it is usually the biggest speed improvement for the money. Add RAM if you already have an SSD and the computer slows down when many programs or browser tabs are open.
- Signs you need an SSD: slow startup (over a minute), apps take long to open, disk usage at 100% in Task Manager.
- Signs you need more RAM: memory usage above ~85% while working, slowdown when switching between apps.
- Some thin laptops have soldered RAM that can't be upgraded — share your model number and we'll check.
We can clone your existing Windows and files onto the new SSD, so nothing needs reinstalling. Book an upgrade
What should I check before buying a refurbished laptop?
Check the battery health, screen, keyboard, ports, and that it has an SSD and a genuine Windows licence — and buy from a seller who offers a written warranty and lets you see the laptop before paying.
- Battery health report (ask the seller to show it)
- Screen: no dead pixels, lines or uneven backlight
- Every key, touchpad, USB port, webcam, speakers and Wi-Fi
- Hinges and body condition
- SSD storage and enough RAM for your use
- Genuine, activated Windows
- Warranty period and what it covers
Our refurbished laptops are tested on these points before sale.
How much does laptop repair cost in Ahmedabad?
It depends on the fault: software problems, cleaning and thermal service are the least expensive; batteries, keyboards and SSD upgrades are mid-range; screens and motherboard repairs cost the most. A proper diagnosis first is the only honest way to quote.
- Ask for the estimate before any work is done
- Ask whether the replacement part is genuine or compatible, and its warranty
- Sometimes repair isn't worth it — a good technician will tell you
